Ensembles
Part of the joy of playing music is performing with other musicians. Bronstein Music School offers our students the chance to play in ensemble groups that meet regularly at our school. Here are some examples:
Rock Band
Contemporary Styles Ensemble
Brass Ensembles
The class will work on developing students' abilities within the context of an all-brass ensemble. Class size will range between 5 and 10 students and will be 50 minutes in length. This class may be all one level or may be divided into two levels depending upon enrollment. The eighth class will be a recital of prepared musical selections.
Woodwind Ensembles
The class will work on developing students' abilities within the context of an all-woodwind ensemble. Class size will range between 5 and 10 students and will be 50 minutes in length. Thiis class may be all one level or may be divided into two levels depending upon enrollment. The eighth class will be a recital of prepared musical selections.
Jazz Sax Ensembles
The class will work on developing students' abilities within the context of an all-saxophone ensemble. Class size will range between 5 and 10 students and will be 50 minutes in length. This class will focus on swing, funk, ballad, Latin and other contemporary styles. Classes are ideal for students who want to improve their skills for playing in a school band. Intermediate level detail: Introduction of styles, with primary focus on learning how to swing. Ideal for the student with limited jazz experience, or for someone looking to join their school jazz band for the first time. Advanced level detail: Play though a variety of styles. Content of jazz theory (improvisation) dependent on level of players. Can also discuss saxophone voicing (block, drop-2, 4, & 5-part open).
Talk with one of our registration coordinators to find our more about our ensemble classes. Note: Classes not meeting minimum participation numbers may be rescheduled or canceled. All participants are urged to enroll early to avoid classes being canceled. Full refeunds will be made promptly for any canceled class. |
