Guitar Group Class

Our popular guitar group class gathers a group of beginning guitar students for an introduction to the art of playing guitar. The 4-week session is offered at a lower rate than private lessons.

During this course, you will learn:

  • A few songs played as single line melodies
  • Simple chords, including power chords
  • Strumming techniques
  • Tab reading
  • Playing with other musicians
  • Basic music concepts

Please bring a good working nylon, steel, or electric guitar to class with you.

The class meets at Bronstein Music School, 363 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, phone (650) 588-2502. The 4-week class costs $75. If you buy a guitar at Bronstein Music, the cost for this class is only $50. The instructor is Carlos Guadarrama.

Continuation Group Guitar Class

Ukulele group class

The ukulele is taking the world by storm! And why not? It's a beautiful sounding instrument, it's easy to pick up and hold, it's inexpensive, and it's easy to play. In this relaxed, fun group, the emphasis is on enjoyment and producing good sounds from your instrument. In this 8-week class, you will learn:

  • Major and minor chords
  • Chord progressions
  • Strumming patterns
  • A variety of fun songs
  • Playing and singing with others

All ukuleles (soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone) are welcome.

The next class is forming now. The start date will be announced as soon as enough people enroll. The class will be held at Bronstein Music School, 363 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, phone (650) 588-2502. The 4-week class costs $48. The instructor is Carlos Guadarrama.

New "Contemporary Styles Ensemble" to start soon

A new "Contemporary Styles Ensemble" class is being formed. This class is designed for instrumentalists who already play and are ready to play in a group. The focus is placed on contemporary Rock styles: Indie, Alternative, Rock, Metal; as well as any other styles that students wish to play.

This class is open to Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Brass, Woodwinds, Strings, Percussion, and Singers.

An interview with the ensemble teacher is needed to determine the level of proficiency.

The class will meet once a week on Monday evenings at the Bronstein Music School. The instructor is Carlos Guadarrama. The fee for this class is $180 for the 10-week class. Space is limited.

Rock Band Classes are in session

The rock band classes are under way at Bronstein Music School. These classes cover styles ranging from Ramones to Metallica to originals.
