Al Bautista, violin teacher

Al has performed with the Berkeley Symphony, San Francisco Concerto Orchestra and The Peninsula Symphony. He holds a Music Degree from the San Francisco State University. He is comfortable with classical music as well as contemporary, bluegrass and other fiddle styles. His 25 years of teaching experience allows him to approach each one of his students with great care and dedication, therefore helping them reach their full potential.


Turi McClain

Turi McClain, violin teacher

Turi is from Wayzata, Minnesota where she started playing the violin at the age of three. She has over ten years of teaching experience and enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities. She is certified in the Suzuki Violin Method and employs this method along with a more traditional approach, depending on the student and level. Turi also enjoys teaching many styles of music including classical, bluegrass and even rock improvisation.

Involved in many different musical genres, Turi was a founding member of Blaggards, an Irish Rock band from Houston, Texas and Montana Slim String Band, a new grass ensemble from San Francisco. She currently performs with The Muddy Roses, Montana Slim String band, Kiyoshi Foster and San Francisco Giants third base coach, Tim Flannery. Turi has also served as section violin for the Madison Symphony Orchestra and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Masters in Music from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
