Bronstein Music offers free pickups and deliveries to our Partner Schools for rentals, returns, and repairs for your convenience. We go to our South Bay & Redwood City schools twice a week on Tuesdays & Fridays. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!


Repairs

We do pickups and deliveries to our partner schools twice a week during the school year on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Barring any major repairs, we return your instrument back to the school on our next delivery day (ex. if we pick up your instrument on Friday, it will be back the following Tuesday).

  • When your instrument comes to us for repairs, please put a note on the outside of the case with the student’s name and “Bronstein Music - For Repair” so we can easily get it to the proper place when it comes to our shop. Your student can also leave a note for the technician inside the case to help them find the issue with the instrument.
  • We do not/cannot pick up or drop off instruments when schools are closed for holidays, only when staff is actually on campus. Please check the calendar below for dates we will be at your school.
  • Please have your student leave the instrument in the main school office (or at Lawson or Kennedy in Cupertino in the band room office) after their band/orchestra class on the day before the pickup (Monday or Thursday). We service several schools on pickup days and don't have a set time we will be there.
  • Instruments that are currently under a rental contract with Bronstein Music will be repaired at no charge, as long as the repair is not due to abuse or negligence. If there will be any charge for the repair, a technician will give the parent a call before starting any work. We will call with estimates for all repair work not under contract before starting the service.


Returns

Instruments must be returned to our shop, NOT THE TEACHER OR OFFICE for the contract to be discontinued. You must arrange a pickup with our shop either over the phone or through our calendar found below. We cannot pickup instruments that we do not know are being returned.


  • Instruments must be returned to our shop on or before the day that your contract renews, not the day that your monthly payment is processed. Please refer to your copy of the rental contract or give us a call at 650-588-2502 or email us to confirm your contract renewal date. If the instrument is returned after your renewal date, you will have one final charge and then payments will be terminated.
  • We do the pickups and deliveries for our customers’ convenience, but it is the renter’s responsibility to make sure that the instrument is returned properly. You can always bring the instrument to our shop in South San Francisco for the quickest return method.
  • If you have a rental with option to purchase contract (aka rent-to-own), we advise you not to return your instrument at the end of the school year if your student plans to play the following school year.
  • You are paying toward purchasing the instrument every month and if you return the instrument and take another one out again for the next school year, you lose out on the credit you have accumulated so far.
  • Students should practice over summer breaks to keep their skills up. If their instrument is returned and they have nothing to practice on, they have a harder time getting started in the fall.


Process To Return an Instrument

1) Use the 'Schedule a Pickup' calendar form found below

2) Put a note or tag on the outside of the case that says “Bronstein Music - For Return”

3) Leave the instrument in the main school office with the staff

  • For Lawson Middle School & Kennedy in Cupertino - Please leave the instrument in the band room office.

4) A driver will pick up the instrument from the school on the next scheduled pickup date (usually the following Tuesday or Friday). Once the instrument is brought back to the shop, we immediately process the rental return. We will also notify our billing company to discontinue the monthly payments.

  • Please note that if your instrument is returned after your contract’s renewal day of the month, there will be one final charge to your account. This date is listed on your contract as the day your contract was started.

 

Instrument Size Exchanges

Please give us a call at 650-588-2502 to speak with a Bronstein Music associate about size exchanges. If your student will be going to a full-size version of their instrument, you will need to complete a new, rent-to-own contract before we can deliver the larger size. After that, you may use this form to schedule an exchange.

  • My school isn't listed, can I still get this service?

    It depends. If your school is in our Partner Schools area (Redwood City, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, etc.), please contact us for more information.
